RCHS presents ‘Beetlejuice Jr.’

The Rappahannock County High School drama department presented its rendition of “Beetlejuice Jr.” last weekend, a musical based on the 1988 movie turned Broadway show that follows “the story of a strange and unusual teenager” grieving the loss of her mother. 

Students put on three performances of the show in the high school auditorium. 

Before the last show on Sunday, director Erin Platt recognized the seniors who would perform for the last time as students, and their hard work on the production.

Ireland joined Foothills Forum as a full-time reporter in 2023 after graduating from the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication with a degree in journalism and minor in music. She completed undergraduate research on news deserts, ghost papers and the ways rural communities in Georgia are being forced to adapt to a lack of local news. This research further sparked her interest in a career contributing to the preservation of local and rural news.
